Recently updated iPad to IOS 17 and lost the ability to print through AirPrint. I would select a printer, a few seconds later the printer unselects.
Apple Forums led me to suspect Norton 360, I deleted the app and rebooted iPad and the ability to print was restored.
Not sure what component of Norton was causing this, (could be VPN).
Is Norton working on an update to fix this?
I am going without protection until this gets fixed.
Please let me know when its safe to reinstall without breaking the print function
If you reinstall 360 and try disabling Safe Web, it will help diagnose what is going on. If this is the issue, you can send logs to Norton to help diagnose the issue.
I did not reinstall Norton 360. It's printing now without it.
I have HP Envy 5540 and HP Envy 110, I checked and there are no new updates available for either.
Did you try installing 360 and turning off Safe Web?
What printer are you using? Many replies in the Apple thread suggest they had to update the firmware for the printer.

Not sure I want to get into finger pointing with Apple and Norton, I would hope they both are better prepared to solve this
As yours is the first post on this, I suspect Norton knows nothing about this. You say the Apple Forums suggested it was your 360. Was this regular users or an Apple forum guru/expert/employee? People are always quick to blame a security app when a new OS is the only change when the issue starts.
Try reinstalling 360 again and test the printing again. If you lose printing again, we can look deeper into trying to find the cause. The first thing I would check is turning off Safe Web feature. From the main interface tap on Internet Security and turn off Safe Web and test.
