Note: Please do not post Personally Identifiable Information like email address, personal phone number, physical home address, product key etc. My computers require that they maintain the same IP address. I have tried to disable the feature that changes the IP address (only on 1 computer of 3!) but it keeps changing the address, and I don’t know how to stop it.
Issue abstract: Norton changes a computer’s IP address that causes problems with other computers.

What is the error message you are seeing?
If you have any supporting screenshots, please add them:
Norton should not be changing your IP address on your local network. Using the VPN will change the IP address that is shown to the internet. But that external IP address would not cause issues connecting to other computers on your network.
What kind of problems are you seeing between your computers?
@JasonL_Lunday
-What is your OS version and build on the affected PC/laptop?
-What is your Norton product and its version/build?
-What entries are in your Norton history that show IP changes?
-Is the affected device switching between Ethernet and WiFi connections?
-Is Norton changing the computer mentioned from Private to Public network or vice versa?
-Does the affected computer go into sleep or hibernation mode when not used?
-Have you assigned “static IP’s” on the individual network adapters in each computer?
-Have you logged into your router and binded the MAC address for the affected device to a specific IP?

I am using a finance app on both computer under the same username. It has worked fine for 2+ years. Now, Norton keeps turning on VPN on Computer 2, which then changes the computer’s public IP address. And when this occurs, the finance app cannot handle the same username from two different IP addresses and requires one to shut down. I cannot restart it using the same account username. I use a website to verify the IP addresses on each computer. Computer 1 stays the same; computer 2’s IP address changes when the VPN comes on. When I turn it off and reset the computer, the IP address returns to the same one as Computer 1. Interestingly, I have Norton installed on both computers, but the program does not turn on VPN on Computer 1 (or it hasn’t yet).
Your finance company is expecting you to connect from a known IP location. Using the VPN which changes your IP location makes the company’s website (which your app is connecting to) think there may be someone trying to hack into your account. So for security reasons they block access from the VPN IP.
You could go to your Norton 360 VPN settings and turn off any automatic activation of the feature. From the 360 interface, click on Secure VPN on the right side, then click on the Settings tab. Be sure the Auto Connect setting is set to Custom. Scroll down an be sure Reconnect after Restarting is turned off.
While there, you could also add your finance app to the Split Tunnel feature. Click on Edit Apps then click on Add Application and navigate to the .exe file for that app. This will allow the app to bypass the VPN and your IP will not be changed when using that.
