Issue abstract: iphone App Momento Dash Cam Viewer Will Not Connect to Dash Cam if Safe Web is Enabled

Detailed description: I cannot make a connection between my car’s dash cam and the dash cam application, Momento Dash Cam Viewer, if Norton Safe Web is enabled. Is there any workaround that would allow me to keep Safe Web enabled and have my dash cam connect to the iphone application?

What is the error message you are seeing? There is no error message, but the dash cam simply will not connect to the iphone application. If I disable Safe Web, the dash cam connects just fine to the application.

There is no work around other than disabling Safe Web. You need to report this to Norton by submitting error logs. Use the instructions in this Norton Support article. Send reports if Norton 360 app encounters an error on your mobile device For Case ID number, enter your forum username.

If you do send logs, please post back here and I’ll notify my Norton contacts to look out for them.

Hi Peter. I just sent the logs. I did some tests with Safe Web off and On so they could see the difference and I put Kageryu as the Case ID

Thank you so much. I do understand and appreciate the support here. It’s nice to be heard. I tried calling Norton to explain this issue, but I don’t think the rep quite understood what I was talking about.

I wanted to let you know we haven’t forgotten about this case, and I will update you once we have more feedback from our developers. The issue here is that the 3rd party app you are using is not allowing proxy connections and is blocking them on their end :(. It’s a common problem that typically occurs with banking apps, but remote access apps are also experiencing this issue.
