Is it normal to get Intrusion Attempt popups from a legit site. When I ran the online Symantec Security Check http://security.symantec.com/sscv6/WelcomePage.asp ...I get several Intrusion Attempt popups ~ Medium / Blocked. The Security Check does port scans....so, is any port scan considered malicious even from a legit site. I also ran ShieldsUp from grc.com with no Intrusion Attempt popups. All scans 100% Stealth. I use NIS09 16.7.2.11 with DSL modem(no router)
A contributor to the Forum with NIS10 ran the Symantec Security Check and advised no IPS popups.
(I understand NIS protected me) curious about the popups from legit site with NIS09 and not with NIS10

It's unusual to be 'attacked' by an Intrusion on a legitimate site. If you get more problems you should ask a virus expert. (The post got a Kudos from mdturner)

User with NIS10 runs Check with no popups. User (me) with NIS09 runs Check with multiple popups.
I ran Check 8 times ~ 4 w IE & 4 w FF. Each time multiple popups. So, either Symantec site is compromised or popups are normal and NIS10 user has Notification Alerts: OFF. NIS09 & 10 use same Security defs. My defs are up to date ~ 20091102.002 . The ShieldsUP test generates one popup and then IP goes to Intrusion AutoBlock. ShieldsUP test w IP goes to Intrusion AutoBlock is reproducible.
So, thanks for confirming my Intrusion Attempt popups are Normal. I was advised to investigate popups from legit sites....so, I did. Additional comments always appreciated ;-)
