I would like to know, and if so, did you try the hotfix or uninstall and reinstall NIS 2009?
NIS 2009 16.7.2.10 update came last Tuesday night 8/18/2009, missing icon problem noticed Friday, problem went away for the last 2 days, now it has returned.
Hi TooStrong,
Do you still experience the same problem? Please let us know.
Thanks,

And do you still have the .10 version or has it been updated already to the .11 version.?
I’ve just rebooted my computer for the first time in 2 days, and suddenly my icon has dissapeared. I now have the latest patch - 16.7.2.11 on Windows 7. Have been using on 7 for a few months, and never had this issue before.
stevefoxon,
There is a known issue of the system tray icon sometimes disappearing when 16.7.2.11 is installed on Windows 7. See this thread for the solution:

NIS tray icon disappeared when patch was applied upgrading from 16.2.7.10 to 16.2.7.11. I have restored it following registry suggestions in another part of the forum and all is well. For me, imissing tray icon occurred only immediately after upgrade to .11.

Excellent, that did the trick. Thanks for the quick reply :)
Steve.
I have the same missing icon issue with xp pro. NIS version 16.5.0.135
I can't perform a Live Update to get the newer version.
Desktop icon is inoperable.
TomV,
Thanks for getting back to me,
Weil sent me a private message asking me about this issue and I sent him a response, maybe he can forward it to you.
Yes, I was still having the issue of the missing icon, so on 8/26/2009 I uninstalled NIS 2009 version 16.7.2.10 and reinstalled NIS 2009 Version 16.5.0.135 and everything is running back to normal for the last 6 days. So I would definitely say that the problem was with the update to 16.7.2.10
I am corrently running version 16.5.0.135.
I see that the newer version is ready ( version 16.7.2.11) I hope when my computer updates to the newer version I don't have the same problem.
Thanks
