Ever since we installed Norton Family to try it out, the parent accounts (unmonitored) seem to periodically be really really slow loading new pages. We've tried also disabling the norton family browser plugin that got auto installed.
One would assume that unmonitored account would skip the norton family software stack, but who knows. Do unmonitored account share a code path with monitored accounts?
I am having the same issues will Firefox, Chrome and IE on all accounts (monitored and unmonitored) and all PC's and tablets that I am running Norton family on. I have had to remove the program in order to complete some of my projects... Very frustrating.
I can't disable it because it is an unmonitored account, hence my question, does the Norton Family software stack still affect internet browsing for unmonitored accounts. Clearly something is going on since NF.exe is running in my (unmonitored) Windows logins.
We perhaps can, but I'd like to better understand the software stack and how it integrates into login sessions first.
Can Norton Family affect Windows logins that aren't activated/enabled, while other logins are activated? This is a question your devs should be able to answer. Is there any kind of Norton logging that could show whether browser activity in unactivated accounts still goes through the NF.exe stack?
I haven't had time yet to trace network packets to look for evidence of this yet, and I'd rather not because it's a pain..
Norton Family doesn't (shouldn't) slow web browsing on the monitored accounts & the unmonitored accounts. The team has addressed an issue with slow internet on Firefox and IE, but internet browsering is normal on Chrome (the issue is not happening on Chrome).

Well, something is going on between NF and Firefox. The NF plugin keeps getting re-enabled without my permission and I periodically end up with unkillable firefox processes.
This also seems to correspond with unusually slow response times from websites.
What is the diagnostic process once you are logged into our system remotely? Do you have diagnostic modes you can put the software into?
Our browsing being slow is very difficult to pinpoint when it is happening ... sometimes it could be just the normal internet slowdown. So without diagnostic logs from the NF software itself, it seems like it would be difficult to poinpoint.
Does anyone at Symantec actually run this day to day on their computers? Do they test with multiple accounts logged into Windows7 simultaneously, and with the latest version of FireFox?
