I bought a new laptop that had NIS 2013 installed and I had nothing but trouble with the online vault. It did not save my passwords, it forced me to change my vault password everyday, because it kept telling me my password was wrong.
I uninstalled it, and installed the NIS 2012 I had already purchased and has not expired yet, with the passwords/logins on my computer.
So I have both- an online vault with maybe 2 logins and my NIS 2012 with computer based logins.
Since Norton no longer extends subscriptions when you purchase early to take advantage of sale offers.
I have to wait for my subscription to expire or have only 1 day left before buying. That makes me lose out on the special offers.
I was wanting to upgrade back to 360 because of the backup ability & the online backup.
Anymore ideas and help?
I have disabled the toolbar, but my logins and cards were no longer available. It shut them off.
More detailed info on how to switch back to regular vault from online vault would be appreciated.

If you mean special offers from Norton on their website then I don't think you can defer buying but I don't know that you have to install and activate right away and the clock does not run until you activate -- but I've no experience of how Norton "delivers" when you buy from them online instead of renewing online.
If you mean specail offers in retail stores or online then if you buy and get a key with the product or by email then you certainly used to be able to keep it until you needed it provided you did not activate even one PC since that starts the clock of all if you buy a 3 User version for example.
I say used to be able because a user has recently reported being told by support that newly purchased older version keys could not be used to renew current versions. But I've not seen any clarification of this since there are a couple of situations where this may be true but they are exceptional and not likely to be encountered by ordinary users.
Hope that helps.
On the problem you had with the online vault I'm sure others could help you resolve that.
Hi, I want to be sure that you are aware that there are two separate passwords to gain access to your online vault.
The first is to your Norton acct. the second is to your vault. I normally have to sign in to my vault only and stay signed in to my Norton.
I also back up my online vault to my computer.
I know this isn't exactly what you asked but I also disliked it until I grew accustomed to it. I thought perhaps your password problem might be easily resolved.
"Why do I need two passwords to login to my vault?
Rather than simply relying on your Norton Account credentials to provide access to all your private data, we felt that it was prudent to enforce a separate strong password for online vaults to minimize the chance that your data could ever be breached by would-be thieves."
