Is Norton 360 a marketing program? All it does is try to sell me stuff, most of which I already own

Issue abstract: Norton popups about problems that don’t exist AND TRYING TO SELL ME STUFF I ALREADY OWN

Detailed description: Norton 360 launches random popups telling me that I have hundreds of issues on my machine and I need to buy Norton Utilities Ultimate to solve them. I already own Norton Utilities Ultimate.

Product & version number: Norton 360 and Norton Utilities Ultimate

OS details: Windows 11 with the November 2024 release of 24H2

What is the error message you are seeing? I have 22 apps slowing down my computer, 29 broken registry keys and 39.60 GB of clutter.

But when I open Norton Utilities Ultimate, WHICH I ALREADY OWN, I have 11 apps “slowing down my computer” (the ones I chose to keep), only 403.2 MB of “clutter”, NO broken registry keys, etc. You get the idea. THE POPUP IS ADVERTISING, NOT REALITY.

CLEARLY, THE NORTON ORGANIZATION IS GIVING ITS MARKETING HACKS REIGN OVER APPLICATION DESIGN.

I HAVE HAD NORTON FOR DECADES AND LIFELOCK ULTIMATE FOR ABOUT 15 YEARS. PLEASE REMIND ME WHY I SHOULD RENEW MY SUBSCRIPTION WHEN IT COMES DUE.

Yes I get that stuff now too. After years of being happy with Norton it has now become a sales pitch for itself. And to make it worse it doesn’t work as well as it used to either!!
