For many weeks I have been unable to download or update apps from Windows Store. There are a great many updates stacking up --- 37 at last count, including Mail, People, OneDrive and other essentials. When I try to download them I get Pending, Errors (0x80070005) and especially the strange response 'Awaiting Wi-Fi connection.' -- my Wi-Fi is excellent. Similar problems in the past have resulted from Norton blocking Windows Firewall. This time Windows Firewall is shown as running in Local Services, although in Control Panel it is red --- I seem to remember in the past it was green? --- also none of the settings buttons respond.
I have switched Norton Firewall off while I am troubleshooting this so I am anxious for a quick solution.
