Is Norton / Symantec having any intention to include these features to their products:
1) Fine tune the PUP / PUA /greyware detection capablities? If you dont want to include highly aggressive detection modules by default, give users a checkbox or 3 stage slider with option like :
Scan for greyware / PUP / PUA … Off - Normal - Aggressive
2) Integrate connectsafe DNS server address as an option in firewall section with all 3 policy based IPs.
By default switched off, but user may turn it ON and the choose a policy from the drop down list.
3. Old outcry for local vault implemented as an optional component by default disabled…
4) Allow local caching of help files and sync it with the online files. This also can be given with default disabled, but on user, choice may be enabled.
5)Give clear explanation how Norton products interact with SSD storage devices.
6)Lock ‘HOSTS’ file from being edited by non members of ADMINISTRATOR / SYSTEM or add locking as a feature to network / firewall section.
7)Provide clear insight on will the Cloud based signature protect you in the following scenarios :
> Normal or high speed network.
> Extremely low speed networks and highly congested network.
> Spotty network coverage
> Machine is offline majority of time, but frequently on local offline network. PnP devices are connected and disconnected frequently on to the machine.
Have a good spirit to enjoy talking with the users at forums and engage with their activities. Answer queries atleast with generic infos rather than limiting only to blogs and moderation (currently only few employee badgers do that IMO)
