Our Windows XP SP3 PC has NAV 16.8 with all updates. For quite some time, we have had a lot of problems with our system hanging while using various applications, eventually coming up with error messages about needing to close Explorer (not Internet Explorer) in order to prevent remote code execution.
Quite often, there is a later message saying that Dr. Watson debugger was unable to run and do we want to submit the usual Microsoft problem report. That isn't consistent, however.
Usually we restart the PC to make it more stable (sometimes it is hung and we have to do this anyway.) This is a very slow restart and all these hanging events are really annoying.
There is nothing on these msgs saying they come from NAV but I need to know how to follow up on this problem -- if it's a Microsoft thing I'll try to go to some forums relating to WinXP. We're really tired of all this downtime. (I have installed all Windows updates.)
I did run Norton Power Eraser today but it didn't come up with anything.
