Is The Vault Broken?

I was using my computer quite happily last night. Today when I log in, the vault didn’t recognise my password. I even went as far as going into my account and resetting it, but with no success. I got so fed up that I reinstalled Internet Security and managed to get back in. However, because it was a reinstall, Norton wanted to reset for an update. Now upon resetting and trying to log back into the vault, all I get is the spinning circle saying “Opening”. (10 minutes and it's still spinning - And yes, I have done another reset.)

 

This is why I prefer to keep all my passwords safe on my own backup drive. I've never had any problems with Login Assistant until this online one came out. To say that this is annoying is an understatement, as at the moment I’m having to try and remember passwords to log into things.

 

Needless to say, I'm going to hunt out the thread for disabling the online vault and just having a local one. Except I can't diable the online one until I actually get logged in!

I'm not sure about things when you logged in but they worked as expected when I logged in about thirty minutes ago.

I also have a bit of bad news for you, there is no more local vault with version 20.x Everything is online.

When you turn your system on, or when it wakes up after being idle all night it does take a few minutes for everything to come up to speed and get fully loaded. Be sure you see the green circle and white checkmark before you stary trying to use any of the features of your Nortn product. That symbol means that everything is loaded, checked out and ready to run.

I too was able to log into my account just a few minutes ago.

I'm shut out of my Vault today too.  I've tried from three different computers and cannot access the service.  I hope this gets fixed quickly as being forced online for this with no local backup is not acceptable.

i have a diferent or maybe similar issue but i think is due to conection to internet when i start first time pc and conect to internet if i start browser to early it will show me on the browser vault icon to setup vault not vault closed after 1 -2 browser restarts it becoms normal

I'm not against Cloud storage of passwords providing it's secure enough. I have used LastPass for a good while afterall. However, it does seem a retrograde step in NIS step to store data only on the Cloud server. LastPass also keeps a local copy of passwords on the computer so that, in the event of  a user having difficulty with accessing their online service, they can still log into other sites.

I also cannot log in the my "vault" and it wants me to create a new on and warns me I will loose all the password entries in my old vault.
