I thought I posted about some thing hijacking me, my desktop, my bookmarks and I was unable to use system restore at several dates in my short 3 weeks life of my new computer, but as I looked at my profile it said I no posting.  I won't go into detail if there is a delay in posting or someone moved or deleted.

 

Can someone advise me where to post?

I just stopped in to say.. there are no other posts on your account.  In other words, that are not any that have been removed for any reason.  Perhaps you posted in a non-offical forum?

Nore any follow up posting either.  But perhaps they did try and post earlier and if they did not stay on the page long enough to see it added got the dreaded error message of "an Unexpected Error has Occured" .  (I'm sorry its late and I've just gotten into the habit of returning to My Post and trying again.  This sure does come up a lot lately.  Think its IE8 issue?

It could be.  There are several IE8 issues that are still being worked out.   It's hard to track these things from comments alone.  However, anytime someone gets the dreaded 'unexpected error' there are certain aspects (browser ID is one) that are logged in an error log, ultimately these are aggragated for comparison.   So while the process is not short and quick the sum of the parts does help add to a solution.

 

Now for the question:  If anyone is REGULARLY seeing the dreaded "an unexpected error has occurred"  when posting please reply here and tell what browser you are using, and how often it happens (i.e. every single post, 1 out of 3, 5 out of 10....).    I'm curious to see if we can establish a pattern that we need to get the developers to look into.
