I considered it just curiousity at the concept of stockpiling licences .... and I see he has confirmed that.
I've certainly been recommending people to buy a cheap copy, even 2009, if they are getting near renewal time and if they are on sale from a legitimate source.
But one thing to remember if you do this is that they do not add cumulatively to an existing licence that is installed and in fact if you took one out of your stockpile and used it now you would lose all the unexpired portion of your installed licence .. for all the computers it is valid for. So if you do buy for stock do not use the licence KEY until the old one is about to expire.
The only kind that add cumulatively are the renewals to subscriptions that you buy from the Norton site -- not an upgrade but a renewal.
