Can any one help me? I’ve just upgraded from NAV 2010 to NAV 2011. Is there any way I can change/upgrade to NIS 2011? Please let me know.

There are two ways you can try if you have just bought NAV 2011 (where did you buy it from?)
1 -- Symantec have a 60 day satisfaction warranty so you can get your money back on the NAV 2011 and buy NIS 2011 instead.
2 -- You can contact Customer Support by chat preferably and ask them if they can make the change if you pay the difference in price or in some other way
I would do (2) first since (1) is handled by Customer Support also but there is a direct link to the Refund procedure.
Here is my boilierplate on contacting Customer Support:
To contact customer support Click on this link and work on from there.
You can choose CHAT or Email; phone may have a long wait time and feedback from users tells us that CHAT is by far the best at resolving problems.
Note that that link is to the USA/CAN website so if you are located elsewhere I'm sure you will be able to find the equivalent location on your local Symantec website; some pages have a link at the top right where you can select the country you are located in.
And here is a link to the website page on refunds
Let us know how you get on please.

Hi Kimmy,
Did you by any chance just recently purchase a subscription renewal directly from Symantec?
If so, then you might want to check with Customer Service and they might be able to issue a new product key for NIS and just charge you the difference between the cost of NAV and NIS.
I recommend using the Chat option as this gets you the best respone time. This is the link for USA/Canada, please let me know if you need a different language.
If Customer service is able to do this for you please be sure and run the Norton removal tool as Tywin7 mentioned before installing NIS.
Hope this helps.
Best wishes.

Hi Hugh,
I see we were thinking on the same wavelength!
Best wishes.

Thanks to you all for the helpful advice. I bought NAV2009 direct from Symantec a long time ago (dated 11th December 2008). I’ve since upgraded to NAV2010 and now NAV2011. I was just wondering if it was possible to upgrade and change products at the same time. I still have 77 days remaining of my subscription. Looks like I’ll have to buy NIS in 77 days time. Cheers. Kimmy

Don't wait until the 77 days are over, from day 78 you won't be protected anymore. Buy it a week or two earlier and do the install on day 76. How to do that was explained above.
Hi Kimmy,
You could either wait until a few days before your NAV subscription expires and then use the procedure earlier to remove NAV and install NIS with the new product key but there might be an alternative.
if you would like to upgrade to NIS sooner rather than later, you could check with Customer Service ahead of time and ask them if your current subscription days you have now could be added on to your NIS subscription if you purchased that now. I'm not sure if they will do this but if you want to change now, it might be worth asking them.
Also you should not put your Order # in a public forum. I've asked the moderator to remove reference to that.
Hope this helps.
Best wishes.

Kimmy,
If you see a copy of NIS 2010 or earlier cheap buy it NOW and keep it until you want to make the change. I have a feeling that the big rebates on 2010 may disappear tomorrow September 27 because Amazon say they can deliver 2011 then and a couple of the weekend store flyers yesterday are offering it "for 2 days -- Sunday and Monday -- only"
That's not to say it won't be findable but my guess -- and it is that -- is that it will disappear from the stores.
Be careful, if you do go shopping today, that you get a 3 PC version, if that is what you want, since the $9.99 version I see from one store is the 1 PC version. You can tell which if they give the original price of about $50 that it is the 1 PC version.
FWIW
Sorry about posting my order No, info. I just wanted to prove that I actually bought NAV2009 and that I’m not using a warez version. I’d like to upgrade to NIS2011 as soon as possible. If I could add the 70 odd days I have left to my NIS2011 subscription, that would be ideal. I’ve checked out the upgrade path from NAV to NIS but Norton wont’ allow me to transfer my 70 days to my new subscription. Looks like I’ll have to wait 70 days. Thanks for the help and advice.
Hi Kimmy,
No problem about the Order number. I just wanted to let you know for your own protection. The moderator removed reference to the order number for you at my request. Just so you know, if there ever is any question where your order number or other identifiable information is needed to resolve an issue, the request would come from Symantec (all Symantec employee names will be in RED) and they would then request you send it to them in PM (private message).
I wasn't sure if Customer Service would be able to accomodate any sort of transfer if you purchased an NIS subscription and possibly adding back on the 70 some days. I figured it was worth a shot.
When you do get around to upgrading to NIS I am sure you will really like it and it is very customizable.
Best wishes

There is a 30-day free trial of NIS available. That might help justify making the switch earlier if you don't want to wait out the rest of your subscription. And you can get NIS 2010 pretty cheap on Amazon (make sure it is NEW and not USED). You can use the NIS 2010 key in the NIS 2011 trial and get it that way. Just don't forget to opt out of the recurring billing prior to the end of the trial.
Thanks AllenM, (should be in red) It was worth a try. I suppose I was hoping for too much. I’ll probably do what Slingload suggests. It’s the quickest way for me to upgrade to NIS. I’ll shop around now. Thanks to you all. Kimmy
