I have been using Malwarebytes (Free version) for the last few months on recommendations from these forums without any problems with my NIS 09 programme. A few days ago was running a scan with M.Bytes and it froze my pc after a few mins. at 'windows\installer\24707\msi' I couldn't close anything using 'Alt Ctrl Del' and had to power down. I reinstalled 3 times and the same result ensued.
Yesterday I decided to look at the Malwarebytes forums for a solution and there was another thread with an identical problem to mine. They suggested it was a possible issue with N360 and to go off line, disable AV Auto Protect, and re scan. I tried this and Malwarebytes scanned without a problem. As soon as I enabled the AV function again the same issue occured and froze my pc? This makes me ask the question is there an issue, or a new one with this software and Nortons and has anyone here experienced a similar issue as mine?
The only new software installed on my pc in the last week was the 'Microsoft Office Converter Pack' as I am using 'Office 2003'.
My specs are as follows, NIS09 v.16.5.0.135, XP Pro, SP3 other security prog. Super Antispyware free.
