ISHELP.EXE Errors

when I restart my computer, I get several errors, pointing to ishelp.exe. I did a web search and one response was it is a Trojan.

What is it? Is it bad? Why did Norton not find it and fix it?

Would like to know. Thanks, Wayne

It is not help.exe but ishelp.exe. Search shows that is a trojan.

Wayne help.exe is a legitimate windows process athough as peterweb suggested run Malwarebytes to check for rogue software. You may also remove it from your system startup using the following guide, it will keep it from loading when your system starts: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4026268/windows-change-startup-apps-in-windows-10

Hi @Whkendri,

Thanks for reporting in Norton Community Forums. Are those error messages are from Windows? Can you please provide error message, if possible error message screen shot?

It looks like you may have picked up a PUP, a Possibly Unwanted Program. While they are annoying, they do not cause damage to your system. Some people actually want the 'Features' offered by these programs. They are usually downloaded alongside a legitimate download when you do not uncheck the option for the additional download.

Norton products concentrate on malware that can damage your system, that is why some PUPs are not detected.

I would suggest a second opinion scan using the FREE version of Malwarebytes. You can find it here http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free/

Be sure you do not accept the offer of the free trial of the Premium version.
