@Gribouille342 Good catch for this obvious bug.

The driver updater doesn’t list all the programs I have on my PC that need updating. Downloading them via CMD using Winget Upgrade --all is better than using the Norton updater because it seems to have a small database.

The biggest example is that my WinRAR is on version 7.13.0 and there’s already version 7.20.0.
Why didn’t the update come out through Norton?

I think its database is too weak to update the programs.

Hi,

Unless I’m mistaken, WinRAR 7.20 was officially released in early February.
It might still be rolling out gradually. In any case, the WinRAR website is still distributing version 7.13 for certain languages or configurations.
The mass rollout of a new version is always done in a measured way !

I wouldn’t be surprised if the Norton update manager offers version 7.20 in the coming days or weeks; for me, database size isn’t a factor.

So I just ask you to be a little more patient…

Update for confirmation: After verification WinRar is indeed one of the programs supported by the software update program : (Update your programs with Norton Software Updater)

Cheers

Thank you for the clarification. I’m afraid of becoming vulnerable with an outdated version of WinRAR, which is why I was wondering why Norton doesn’t show WinRAR.

Version 7.13.0 is still the only version I can get my side as well.

Correction: Version 20.0 is available here:

O norton não tem como pegar o instalador e colocar na lista para o pessoal pode fazer o download fazer atualização?
Isso que estou falando o norton tem que acelerar as coisas.

Well that should be a fairly “elementary” issue to resolve. But!! Not all regions/languages, according to the WinRAR website have version 7.20 available. So yes, that is a regional issue with Driver Update databases indeed.

Look, if you use CMD and the command (winget upgrade --id RARLab.WinRAR) the installation will work normally, because Microsoft already has it.
Norton needs to update this faster because other methods and programs that update software have been around for a long time, I believe it’s a problem with Norton.

Bonjour @Guillaume1024

Merci pour ta réponse. Effectivement, je pense qu’il y a un “décalage linguistique” qui se résout automatiquement.

Je m’excuse pour cette réponse tardive.

Bonne journée.

Hi, I have another example. On the official website, AnyDesk is listed as version 9.6.11, but on my computer I have version 9.0.10. Since I use Norton, why hasn’t this program been updated?

Hi Love, looks like we’re back here again, all was fine last night, woke up today with this nightmare of an application 26.1.10738 (build 26.1.10738.966). The VPN won’t connect, can’t find a darn thing, most importantly the VPN won’t connect. Have we lost all hope of getting the older interface back this time?

Truly hate this version, not what I paid for, I’m guessing if there’s no news from you about how to get the “wonderful” old version back that was slim, easy to navigate, gave us control, wasn’t confusing and used less processing on our laptops you would have. So upset. :frowning: I did try to reinstall it and the VPN still won’t connect. :frowning: Spins and spins trying to then says it can’t.

Hello again. Nothing new has been released in the latest version regarding the VPN issues being seen. Norton Security 26.1.10738 for Windows is now available!

The main Norton Services webpage isn’t showing anything down ATM. Of course there isn’t anything there specifically VPN related though. Refresh me whether you are Norton 360 VPN or standalone version for clarity.

-Have you restarted your computer and ensured you have admin rights in that account, retested?
-Have you checked the auto-connect settings in the Secure VPN area of Norton?

https://status.norton.com/

Down Detector isn’t showing anything related either at present.

Edited: Having just ran Live Updates I didn’t get the 966 version you have posted.

I just deleted the whole gosh thing hoping I could get back the older version, but it doesn’t seem like I can, it installs, but without the VPN, which I think was the issue I had last year too, and somehow, someway (don’t recall) I finally got it with the VPN included, though again I don’t remember how.

This new mess, it circles around the globe over and over again to try to connect to the VPN an then just says sorry can’t connect. I see it, it’s there, it just won’t connect to it. So I now have no Norton installed, because I got so frustrated that I uninstalled this new thing that loaded itself on my laptop as I slept, tried to put the older version on, but that installed without the VPN, which again happened to me last year and I don’t know how I fixed it, but I did. My Norton 360 is a product I purchase yearly from Norton’s website, only using it on my laptop, does that help your question at all? Sorry @SoulAsylum this was so not what was on my calendar to do today and I’m frustrated and having an anxiety attack right now :frowning:

Ok so start with this to get where ya need to be with this. Run the removal tool for Norton, even though you have already removed it. See what it does and do a REMOVAL only in the tool settings. Reboot.

Log into your Norton account and reinstall from there. If you have N360 Standard, Deluxe or Select Plus they ALL include the VPN. It has to be setup in the Norton UI. You can do that during the installation process if I remember correctly.
