Yes, I read that and I am not using any agent.
At the beginning I had the impression that the fault was triggered by starting Claude with the Cowork feature, after more tests the high CPU/memory usage by Norton Software Analyzer starts even after just starting Claude code from the command line, not by starting the desktop app. It continues after stopping it.
I apologize for being repetitive, but, as posted early Claude has its issues, A/V companies are in fact taking notice of those issues. Exposing the FULL client code is as serious as it gets, and more over with anthropic software.

We are all aware of the source code leak of Claude, but I donāt think you can reasonably connect this event to the high CPU and memory usage of the Norton Software Analyzer processā¦
Then, the article you are pointing to says that, starting from that source code, someone built a modified binary containing malware, something that can be done with any open source software. Is this the reason for that Norton issue?
I am not blaming Norton for having a bug; this is quite normal if it gets fixed sooner or later, and I reported it for this reason. However, denying it is not a good practice.
With all due respect, the issue presented, is that Claude as are other AI agentic software solutions, are questionable is the case scenario. As far as a ābugā within Norton, I donāt believe that is the case. Norton being overly protective? Probably so. What the issue if there is one is, Norton is highly aware of the threats from outside actors, how they use the vulnerabilities when the threats are ignored, for the sake of usage. You can, exclude your Claude workspace from Norton scans and detections at your own personal risk. Personally I donāt recommend it nor am I suggesting you do so. Bottom line is. Norton doesnāt want to have that risk assessed upon them over the possibility that mountains of data, a network and its resources, possibly become compromised falling into their lap. No noteworthy A//V company would take those legal nor otherwise risks. Nothing there for Norton to deny.

Do we hit reply to post them here? My issues would be:
Both of these issues are unresolved and have been issues for weeks or months. Waiting for callbacks.![]()
Also, my cases need to be updated. Norton is not updating the ones that were resolved. Please look at these cases. They should not be open for weeks and months. I want an answer.
I want these bugs killed. Too many.
Ideally, keep all posts regarding a specific issue to a single forum thread. Starting multiple threads on the same issue makes it difficult to keep track of any updates on that issue. Especially when you comment on an issue in a thread for another issue.
Indeed. There are posts everywhere for the same issues across the forums. Its very hard to keep track of and reply to.

ok, it is hard to remember to post here after clicking Ask the Community for years. Will try.
thanks for the help
You should be getting emails for threads you have posted in. At the bottom of the email is a Visit Topic button that will take you to the appropriate thread.
Since my last post, Norton is back to randomly un-ignoring my ignored recommendations outside of updates again. Itās a harmless annoyance that just requires me to put the un-ignored back on ignore, but I have no idea why it does this, whatās causing it, or how to reproduce it, so a log would basically be useless. (So no PMs please.)
And new (to me) recent history spammer! Noticed Rule IGMP Public blocked IGMP(2) traffic being logged every two minutes or so from my router. Doing a search on here found a few threads from last year with no resolution, and Googling it informed me that itās my router being noisy re: multicast and itās normal. Apparently itās been a rule this entire time and Iād never seen it despite it applying to public networks and my network being set to public.
So this led me to believe that itās sāposed to be a silent block. Iām thinking it went a little goofy after I needed to put my network back on public after Norton switched it to private yet again without my permission. Resetting Smart Firewall corrected its behavior, and itās now back to not spamming recent history.
Makes me wonder if rule Windows Networking in Public, which is the rule causing the UDP(17) spam here, is sāposed to operate similarly but doesnāt.
Any news on Norton finally fixing the new versions backup issues? So far it seems like v26.4 still has external or internal drive backups cannot be scheduled, they are either automatic for every day or manual, among other features still removed from v22. If not, would you have a recommendation on a replacement product, like McAffee, with similar/equivalent features for controls to perform local drive backups, inclusion/exclusion of files/folders, date and time of backup, recovery on other PCs, etc that were removed from Norton 360 after v22.24.8.36? Iāve stayed on v22.24.8.36, updating the Symantec virus list every day, and getting the feeling there is no intention at Norton to fix their mistake of removing all the required local backup features. I have 8TB of local data and it is unfeasible/unwanted to do this on the Cloud, especially having a 12TB very fast SanDisk for local backups. Norton product management, please state your position on fixing this issue that clearly is a dealbreaker for many of your current subscribers and something that is driving your clients to other products!
Just found these: * It would appear that the intelligent updater is DEAD not longer supported for older versions of Windows and Norton as well. I had the feeling that was happening. There is the proof.
This where the intelligent updater should be.

I think I should have posted this here. One day normal operations, next day a problem
Odd Problem this time.With VPN
Issue abstract:
VPN loads as per normal but no VPN Tunnel Listed.
Detailed description:
Once my computer is up and running I immediately start up Norton and load VPN which works as per normal, except this time there is no VPN Tunnel listed in the Internet connection - even though the internet is connected and everything runs normally = Browser, email and even Nortonās check for updates.
However, on the Norton home screen there is a window with āScam Protectionā and the message āYouāre Offlineā which I am not.
Everything is working and operating normally (internet) except half of Nortonās operations are also normal and the other half (which includes the VPN) shows offline. Initially I did the usual - restart router and restart Windows but still the same. And the VPN is still checking and blocking trackers - even though I am āofflineā.
Not causing me any internet issues but what ? A Bug ?. I found what seems to be exactly the same problem in a post in 2021 and another 2 years ago. Is there an explanation for this ?
Windows 7 SP1 and Firefox ESR.
Norton 360 Delux 1 with VPN included.
Oh, and Norton updated itself to the latest protection build 26.4.10932 - while it was āofflineā. But canāt check for other program updates because āYou are offline, please check your internet connectionā. Also, when I look up āSettingsāSmart FirewallāNetworkā it shows āYou are offlineā.
As of today, all Nortonās functions are āOnlineā but the issue remains with the VPN - no VPN tunnel showing in Network.
I made a note that there are 1100 history entries in āNetworkā for āNorton VPN Wireguard. I suspect this is the main cause for the VPN problem. When the āNetworkā is loaded response is very sluggish - again indicating that the history is completely full and no more room for the VPN to activate. How can I delete this unnecessary history ?
hvis jeg har ret er din fejl fix men forvent ikke den ude lige forelĆøbig den patch
Thanks, I have the latest patch so will just wait for the next one.
