Issues with Norton 360 for Gamers, VPN, and Customer Support

Earlier today, I had to apply a new activation code to Norton 360 for Gamers. This triggered application errors that required a full uninstall and reinstall of the software.

During the reinstall process, I encountered multiple problems, including blank screens and extended loading times (spinning progress indicators). Following Norton’s guidance, I used the official Norton Removal Tool to completely remove the application and then performed a clean installation.

Post-installation, I was intermittently able to log in to the application, though it often required 5–10 minutes of waiting through blank screens and loading circles. Once logged in, the VPN component consistently failed to start. My network connection is stable, no other firewalls or VPNs are active, and this is a clean installation environment. The application repeatedly displayed error messages stating the VPN could not be enabled.

I contacted Norton support and spoke with an agent named Aakash. He requested screenshots of the issue and asked for remote access to my PC, which I declined. He then stated that their team is aware of an ongoing issue affecting VPN functionality and that a fix is being worked on.

This explanation is concerning, as my other device running Norton 360 (without recent reinstallation) is functioning normally. The problems only appear on the system where the reinstallation occurred, raising questions about whether this is truly a global issue or something specific to fresh installations.
