Okay, I've crashed and blue screened PC's since the Charlie Chaplin IBM days. I've tried every backup program from the earliest to the latest. I've backed up PC from the old 80s' floppy disks, high speed tape drives, and all manner or source drives. My last venturing was abandoning the Vista backup program, tried Acronis, and despite discarding earlier Ghost programs due to failed recoveries, I read the reviews and purchased Ghost 15. The icon produces a green check mark each morning to say my 250 gigs is incrementally backed up each night On Monday I downloaded a faulty upgrade to one of my apps, and upon reboot Vista would hang "Please Wait." Nothing would correct it, tried Vista recovery mode, replacing master boot record, all types of recovery attempts. Decided it was time to see if Ghost really worked. I loaded the bootable DVD I had prepared upon installing Ghost 15. I clicked all the options, including check system files, restore MBR, etc. I started the recovery and it wiped my Raid drives clean, but then stalled at 13% after two hours and showed it needed 14 more hours. I decided to cancel. Deselected all but the basic options, wham bam, it formatted my raid drives and restored my entire 250 gigs of mirrored eSATA drives in less than an hour. I rebooted and now my PC is smoother and faster than ever, due to a clean install. Maybe you've had better experiences, but I've had to reinstall the operating system and reinstall all of my applications more times than I care to admit over the past 30 years. This is truly my first one click - restore experience that I've ever had. Anyone and any company can boast about software features, but I was in a jam Monday and Ghost 15 did as advertised, if not better.
