Hey LegTwister here. Been working with Yank and others on 3038,104 and thought we may have had it but I had the error again this morning with the huge update of 190MB definitions again.
I think it might have been caused by the Norton registry cleaner????
I went a few days w/o issues and system was running fine. I have left the computer up and running and not allowing sleep to interupt the connection or processes as we worked this problem.
Sequence I think may be causing issues is the manual full scan registry cleanup or maybe even a manual registry clean-up. Not sure if the Auto fullscan has same issues.
Everything fine since 3.7.14. Finished on the computer last night and ran a manual full scan before going to sleep. I looked at history this morning and the Auto Live Updates were going fine.
Logged into NOAA for a weather check and a few other things then tried an Interactive Live Update...error'd for X64 virus definitions....628 KB. Checked to see if it would error on a manual Quick Scan and what do you know error 3038,104 is BACK.
Interactive Live Update...198MB x64 virus definitions once again.
Now...after running the Interactive Full Scan with tune-up history shows approx 18 blocks of scvhost.exe right after the reg clean-up then it ran the disk optimization and Norton Error Submission. Blocks were Unauthorized access blocked (Open File)
I do not see any blocked conhost.exe attempts.
Based on my history and the issues prior to what was a successful install of 360 on 3.7 I now believe the Norton registry cleanup is causing the 3038,104 and huge 19oMB and counting x64 virus definition updates.
I'll be checking back for follow up and questions as the day progresses. Blizzard here now so I have time!
LegTwister windows 7 64-bit SP1 also using CCleaner and free malwarebytes and continuing to have error 3038,104.
Oh yeah, I think the Norton ICon has remained with the green check but....
