Alrighty, since this new NIS update, iTunes has decided to be a bit of a pain in the neck. Specifically, it's relationship with my iPod. Ejecting the iPod causes it to freeze up, to the point that if I want to use it, I have to go to task manager and close it from there then try and restart it.
I say "try" because sometimes, it'll decide that it doesn't WANT to restart. It shows up in the Task Manager, that itunes.exe is running, but the program does not show up. It literally will not start up again until I restart my computer (Running Windows 7, by the by, though you're probably gonna need more info than that.) Other times, iTunes will start up, but it does not show that the iPod is connected, even though the iPod screen says that it is connected and it shows up in My Computer as being connected.
I didn't think this was a Norton issue at first, so I ran an experiment. I restarted my computer. Norton is supposed to start up automatically but sometimes it doesn't. On this particular time, it did not start automatically with Windows. So I opened up iTunes, connected my iPod. Connected just fine. Ejected it. Everything worked just fine. Did it a couple more times. Nothing froze. Was able to use iTunes just fine.
After I started up Norton, the problem came right back. I ejected my iPod, and iTunes froze up. Had to close it through Task Manager. Has not been able to be reopened since.
Did not have this problem prior to the new release so not sure what else it could be.
