I noticed that over night my system checked for Java updates. Not a problem as it regularly checks once a month. However, in my activity log I noticed this entry
an instance of C:\ProgramFiles\Java\ javaw.exe is attempting to access the internet.
I googled javaw.exe and was confused by the information out there. Seems to indicate soem file sharing thing. But I'm not doing file sharing
I also notice taht if I go to check if Java is updated, I get this entry in my connection log an inbound and an outbound connection to 127.0.0.1 which I know is my computer. Just curious as to why that happens
I also noticed that today in Norton Virus and risk section that there is a
W32.Kernelbot.A which "
It adds the following lines of text to the hosts file to prevent access to various domains:
- 127.0.0.1 www.360Safe.com
- and a long list of other 127.0.0.1 entries (interestingly enough nothing indicating symantec/Norton directly)
Just wondering if my connection log an inbound and an outbound connection to 127.0.0.1is related to that or a seperate issue
