Hello.  I am trying to verfity my site ownership.  I have a Joomla site with Network Solutions.  I tried uploading the file to the root directory but verification failed.  I also tried to insert the meta tag into the index.php file in the template folder but it still did not work.  Any suggestions?

Hi Karen and welcome!

 

The meta tag looks pretty good.  You might want to give this a try.

 

There is a space near the end of the tag. See if you can remove the space.

 

Change ... 6c9jey93lai" />   to  ...6c9jey93lai"/>  and then try to verify ownership.

 

In the mean time, I will contact the Safe Web team, just in case this does not work for you.

 

To be notified by email when a reply is posted, go to My Settings > Preferences and check the box for: "Automatically Subscribe Me to Topics I Participate In".

Okay.  I have notified the Safe Web team.  Allow them a day or two to respond back you in this thread.

 

Could you do me a favor and double check that the URL you registered with Safe Web matches the address of your website, letter for letter?
