Please can anyone help me I have run out of places and people to ask, I am a touch typist and have been for many years, I have got a new laptop it is the lenovo B500, WHEN I TYPE THE CURSOR JUMPS ALL OVER THE PLACE I CAN'T CONTROL IT, it even changes from caps on and off. Nothing makes sense ever in the typing it is driving me crazy. So far this has ten me 15 mins to type and correct. I am at my wits end. I have done the restore the back up. I got this laptop via the bt shop, I have sent them emails I have phoned but its shut due to the bank holiday. I am at my most stressed level ever it is making me ill. Please can anyone tell me how to stop this stupid mouse/cursor from jumping about/ Pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
As Delphinium indicates a common cause of this -- especially with us touch typists -- is the touchpad being brushed by a finger tip or clothing. Most touchpads have a control -- chekc Control Panel / Mouse -- and you can disable the touchpad.
If that stops the problem then you know the cause and can either train yourself to avoid the touchpad or adopt an external mouse, which I prefer in any case.

Normal touchpad function is restored within 1 second after you stop typing.
It is not configurable.
If the ability to change the lock interval is important to you this app would a better choice: TouchpadBlocker
I use my old laptop so infrequently and have a plug in mouse for it that I don't need it thanks. But I asked about time lag to return use because of the statement on its website:
<< as long as you're not doing any heavy photo editing that might necessitate the simultaneous use of the touch pad and keys, >>
I can't imagine literal simultaneous but if there's only a one second delay that's enough for most people to mean they just need to stop typing and reorientate their fingers <s>
