Tonight, I was going about my usual business and visited a website that I have gone to for months, which is a respected well-known organization website in my city, and which I access through a bookmark. I was startled when Norton threw up a page with a big red X and said that the website had malicious malware. I went to "details" and it listed 4 links of that website that were infected with "Fake AV Redirect Requests" under "Driveby Downloads."
So thanks go out to Norton for doing such an efficient job! A few days ago the site was OK. I don't think the owners of that website even know about it yet, so I emailed them tonight to tell them. Of course, they will have to figure out how the bad links got on their website, and if the rest of their system is OK.
So thanks, Norton!
