Keeps telling me my trial has expired every time I restart computer (I've never had a trial)

Every time I restart my computer the warning boxes come up telling me that my trial has expired. Once I log into my Norton account online, it fixes itself automatically, but if I click on "fix it" instead, it will just sit there forever trying to fix the problem. Also, no matter how many times I click on don't ask me again, it still tells me about every 15 minutes that Chrome is not protected (I have Norton Identity Safe turned off because it slows my already slow computer down to snail speeds).

- This is an old computer running XP

Even though I've used Norton since I got my first computer, since I only have 21 days left on my subscription I'm thinking of just bagging the whole thing and switching to a free program - there's so many good one's out now. I don't know, it just seems like one problem after another lately.
