My Norton 360 on Win 10 frightened me with the presentation of a Kill Switch. I activated it in a panic and then discovered the loss of my internet access. I tried many times to de-activate the switch all to no use. I was stuck with a useless computer. With no guidance i deleted Norton via Control Panel in an effort to get my computer back working. This failed and I have no working computer.
HELP PLEASE
i CANNOT USE A RESTORE POINT OR RUN ANY BACK UP
Have you restarted your computer since uninstalling Norton 360? Restart, not shutdown and startup again.
The Kill Switch is a feature of the VPN feature of 360. It appears that your VPN got disconnected for some reason, and the Kill Switch is offered to you to allow you to block internet until you can restore your VPN connection.
Tried restart several times no joy.
James. Is it possible to uninstall the VPN from control panel, “Programs and Features”? If so remove it and reboot.

Used restart and restore point at start up. All good, will now review my use of Norton in the future. Do I need to use this aggressive program or company. I am fed up with the constant efforts by this company to impose new products and increased payments.
Continuing with Norton is a personal choice everyone has to make based on their needs and expectations of Norton software. The last two releases, versions 24 & 25 DO NOT meet the same standards for me as the last version prior to them. I’m hoping the functionality, false positive notifications go away, and firewall tailoring come back sooner than later. For now I am on an older version, updating virus definitions daily with intelligent updater and waiting things out.
