Last night I downloaded & installed Officefree 2013 from http://www.kingsoftstore.com/. I did this because the latest update to Libre Office convinced me that it has become more trouble than it is worth over the past year. The installed Kingsoft suite works very well, with most of the functions I used to enjoy on MS Office.
NIS said the downloaded file—office_free_2013.exe—was safe. Am I right in my understanding that this means the installed suite is safe?
Doing a search of the community archives resulted in a number of discussions in some Oriental text (Chinese-?) but not anything that caught my attention in the English-language comments.
I understand that Kingsoft/WPS is a Chinese work and purportedly has been adopted by parts of their government, among some 300 million other users, according to one Wiki article.
If it is risky, I'm prepared to restore the drive with an clean drive image preceding the download & installation of office_free_2013.exe.
Can anyone give me some guidance on this Chinese package—eliminate or keep?
