If you have Norton Antivirus, what firewall are you using?  Have you allowed Norton to access the internet through the firewall?

Actually, that is an excellent yet simple point. :smileyvery-happy:

I am a bit NIS centric and was busy, so please check that first, prior to the procedure posted above.

Thanks!

Thanks all for your suggestions. I had to unistall NAV 10 and then unistall Zonealarm Pro, unistall all the existing network drivers, reboot and then install the drivers followed by NAV2010 and then zonealarm. I thought everything worked well until i realized that my fingerprint driver is also messed up! the reader does not get detected ever since i did the first install of NAV2010. I am going to reinstall that driver!

All I can concur is that Norton and Zonelaram not the best of friends! But i still can't seem to understand why it disabled/messed up both my Wired and wireless adapters!...and also my fingerprint reader!

Norton and Zonealarm really don't do well together.  Program glitches can affect anything on the machine whether it makes sense or not.

Comodo standalone firewall seems to get along much better.
