Right after Norton charged me for a renewal of Norton 360, my laptop is incredibly SLOW, slow to start, slow to change pages, slow for everything! Have Windows 10 and use Edge browser.
Does anyone have a suggestion as to how I can go back to my normal laptop use! It was great before Norton's renewal. Please Please help! I do not have VPN, the cloud, or anything else activated just the basic. I have basic computer needs that are NOT being met now because of this.
The Restart seems to have done the trick!!!! For some reason it did the Restart twice without me saying to do it a second time and it took a while, but now sites load fast like they used to! Grateful for your help, Peter Weber. :) I am a senior and really appreciate the tips. I will write down the instructions and save for future issues.
thank you! I will try the LiveUpdate feature. very much appreciate your suggestion.
But please note the emphasis is on getting a complete system restart. That is more likely to be the solution to your problem as all system and Norton updates get completed.
Before getting drastic and reinstalling Windows, try running LiveUpdate manually a few times, restarting as necessary, until no updates are available. Restarting, not shutdown and startup again if you have the Windows Fast Startup feature enabled. If you use Windows 8/8.1 or 10, there can be an issue with the Windows Fast Startup feature.. See more information here.
I do not really see how the renewal charge by Norton has anything to do with your laptop but if things are not running well you should consider a clean install of Windows 10.
1/Settings
2/Update and Security
3/Recovery
Make sure you choose clean install which means you will lose any personal files (so backup before) and also lose any third party applications which you will have to reinstall from scratch including Norton. Be careful and good luck and maybe investigate some more about why your laptop is running slow.
