Just manually run Live Update and mine shows "3.0.0.134"

Odd. Mine says 3.0.0.135

Just to make sure I ran Live Update a few minutes ago and I show .134 as well.  Although Norton has suddenly crashed and disappeared.  Ah the joys of technology

134 - in US had Safe Search search box in the Norton Tool Bar on when installed (user can manually turn this off)

135 - in US has Safe Search turned off as a install default now; only difference,

Ah, thank you dbrisendine for the information.  I was going to leave it alone but I am slightly confused.  Since Symantec rarely changes the dowloadable version on their websites due to the liveupdate, how do some people end up with .134 and some with .135? This of course assuming we are talking about everyone downloading off of the Symantec website :)

Just trying to clarify.

Thank you much,

I am not sure (but I strongly suspect) that this applies to N360 v3 as well as NIS2009 v16.5:

(This from the second anchored thread at the top of the NAV / NIS forum)

"There are two versions - 16.5.0.134 and 16.5.0.135.

2.       What is the difference between the two versions?

There are two key differences between 16.5.0.134 and 16.5.0.135. 16.5.0.135 contains fixes to the patch installer to address patch failures seen with 16.5.0.134. In addition, in 16.5.0.135, the search box which is also called Norton Safe Search is disabled by default.  Please refer to Rowan Trollope’s post about Safe Search for more details.

3.       If I have 16.5.0.134 will I get 16.5.0.135?

If you have already received 16.5.0.134, then you were not affected by the patch installer defects and you will not receive 16.5.0.135. If you have 16.5.0.134 and would like to disable Norton Safe Search, you can manually do so by clicking the “Norton” button on the Norton toolbar in the browser."

I don't remember there being any patch problems here N360 land like there is / was in NIS land (hard to stay up on both boards).  If you have 134 running ok then you are fine; you are not missing anything from 135.  I'm sure that the next increment update will bring everyone to the same version numbers.

Ah fantasic, the link to Rowan T's post nails the explanation down. And yes it does cover both NIS and 360.

Apparently there have been a large number of complaints that the ASK search box in the Norton toolbar is by default on. Within a short period of time shipping of NIS and 360 will have the search box turned off by default where the customer can turn it on if they wish.

Thanks for seeing being all over and posting the info.
