The very latest version of Chrome 32 was released. Updated from 32.0.1700.76 to the now present 32.0.1700.102.
I did not run 'About Google Chrome'. I always did in the past 3 years for my updates, which was never a problem. Since the start of the Chrome 32/Norton Toolbar issue, this time I left it.
During the wee hours of the morning where I live, I received the update automatically/silently, while online all night. After seeing I had been updated, I took a deep breath, then relaunched the browser/restarted the computer.
Upon opening Chrome, the Norton Toolbar is still in place, along with the extension version 2014.6.4.11
