Hi,
A long time Norton user who recently resubscribed and upgraded to latest Norton Security. In the last few weeks Norton Security Service has regularly consumed 40 - 45% CPU and when it does it stays there until I shut down or reboot. - I am unable to terminate it in Windows task manager
Just this morning this happened. So I closed the PC down and restarted, I then did nothing else except start Windows Task manager and monitor the active processes. After about 20 mins, I heard a noticeable step up in the case fan volume and sure enough, Norton Security was running with 43% cpu usage. It is still running at around that mark (only moves by 0.1% up or down).
My system Info is below if that helps
