The browser hacker'highjacker "launchpage[dot]org" found it's way into Internet Explorer on my system and took control of it - every time you open the browser the start page is: launchpage[dot]org/?uid...etc.
There were only a couple of downloads that this insidious browser hacker/highjacker could have been hiding in, but Norton, worryingly, failed to detect it within them!
There are various ways of removing this "virus", outside of Norton, but before I found them, I did a system restore which solved the problem.
I haven't tried Norton Power Eraser, so don't know if this is effective in removing launchpage.org from an infected system, but would be interested to know if anyone else has had this specific problem and if they had to seek a remedy outside of Norton Security.
