I have googled this and don’t find much (other than my own post). I suspect this is legit, but would like others take on it
Might a Norton Staffer respond when they have a moment?
I would use caution until it is confirmed whether this is legit. or not, which, to me, looks suspicious.
This is a Symantec filename. However, if you are suspicious that this file might be malware in disguise, you amy want to run a scan in Safe Mode to be sure.

Also, please make sure that you have the current Protection Updates before doing a Full System Scan in Safe Mode; currently at the time of writing, V.D.s for Tuesday, August 26, 2008, have not yet been Released.
actually this file did not show up on a scan or via The Norton Community Watch, but it was logged as a "suspicious" file.
I'm thinking this is another false positive? And I'm WAY ok with false positives. That tells me the NAV is working hard
thoughts?

Do not worry; Norton is keeping an "eye" on this and, if it tries to do any damage to your computer, it will get Blocked.
