same problem setting the sata to compatability mode gives same error results
If the computers are identical, it should work. Sometimes the computers are not identical in hardware and this can cause a problem. The bios settings are probably going to have to be the same as the copied computer.
You say you have a working image, Are you sure? How did you ghost it? In DOS or windows?

I should have said I have a working pc and have been able to pull an imageof the formentioned pc onto DVD using ghost 8.0 from dos
I have put the SATA into compatability mode on master pc and pulled image (and same settings onto the pc to receive the image) but i still get the flashing cursor upon boot.
Did notice when using windows XP recovery i fixed the mbr and the pc booted into a broken state Boot.ini corrupt (interesting) but not a solution. fixed the boot.ini and windows booted but what other damage was done?
I have been able to clone the pc with arconis no problms at all so i think it is a shortcoming within ghost but i wont flame it as it has done me proud for years
would be nice to use ghost so i can send it down the network but i will have to make do with aconis for now as time is an issue with this one.
