I purchased a 3 user license and installed only 2 users. Today, I got a pop up stating - why not upgrade 2009 foe free.

I upgraded one machine ok. I have over 300 days remaining.

On the 2nd machine, I got an error messsage that I have NO days remaining on my 300+ days.

I wonder why this happened and how to correct this.

thanks.

I am using the same license key. I check with the license server and it states that the key is good for 3 PC's. I used the download file to install 2009 after it removed 2008.

I run SymLMTS.exe and everything is OK.

Do you use the same Norton Account? Otherwise Norton will get confused

I have an Norton account but I haven’t used it in a while.

I accessed the account again. The account had the wrong key # and I can't find a way to change the key # without buying another license which I won't.

So how do I change the norton account assocated with the product?

I found that I used a diffrent email account to registered this version.

thanks

Hi again.....i thought so....

okay...do you know the email adress where you "stored" the new key? Than you have to reinstall Norton (on the PC with the wrong account). Please use Norton Removal Tool to uninstall.

You can find it here Norton Removal Tool.

I'm not sure. Heard something from other threads that NRT leave the account data stored on the pc untouched.

There's no way to change the account via program. If you experience problems you can contact Customer Contact via chat. Perhaps they have a trick ;-) Chat HERE

I am running Norton removal tool and let you know what happens.

TIA

Norton Removal tool leaves license key in system. In my case, it showed the wrong key but I was able to change to the correct key. Thus I was able to upgrade.

thanks for the help.

For anyone else having this issue, if you would like to fix the problem in five seconds instead of an hour:

1.  Click on the option to buy a new subscription.

2.  DO NOT actually buy a new subscription.

3.  The software now has a window where you can enter your new activation key.

4.  Enter the correct activation key.

Hello,

are you sure that you are on the same Norton Account with both versions?

If not, correct this. If this doesn't work for you CLICK HERE.
