License questions

A week ago our hard drive failed. Since then, our local repair man has managed to clone the disk, install a replacement disk and transfer the data from the old disk to the new one.

Everything is working well as far as I can see, but Norton thinks it's been installed on a 2nd PC! We have 2 User accounts and this morning my husband got a message from NIS that he must activate the program or it would sop working soon. He did this and it's fine now - despite working normally for 3 days on the new disk without any problem!

I've just signed into my account and the details shown are as follows:

Norton Internet Security

Expiration Date:  Dec 22, 2011

Protection For:    3 PCs

Remaining Activations: 1 PC

I realise that it must seem to the program that it's been installed on another PC, but it hasn't. It's the same PC with a different hard disk. What can or should I do to get this changed in my account?

A related question is that soon we'll be getting a laptop from a local shop to use in addition to our desktop. They are going to install NIS 2010 on it for us and say that I'll be able to register it OK with my existing Product Key. Is this correct and how would I do it please?

Sorry this has become somewhat long-winded! I'd be very grateful for any help or info you can give me. Thanks.
