Need a bit more info on being able to transfer current PC license to the new Microsoft Surface tablets coming out in October and January? For more info http://www.microsoft.com/surface/en/us/default.aspx . October 2012 release is for the ARM or Windows 8 RT versions, and Windows 8 Pro 32-bit and 64-bit versions in January 2013. Currently renewing subscription by purchasing a box copy of Norton 360. I noticed full compatibility for Windows 8 is shown for Norton 360 just recently.

No different to before. But note that the first Surface tablets to be released do not use WIndow 8 but WIndows RT and I don't know where Norton are with that OS which differs from the Windows 8 that will be on standard computers and the later Surface Tablets.
If you have spare activations under your licence and are going to continue to use any other PCs then just install on the Surface in the usual way -- if they have a USB port you can transfer the installation file that way or you can log onto your MyNortonAccount and use the Download button.
If you want to literally transfer which means discontinue on one PC and install on the Surface then I'd recommend adding the Norton Management Tool to your MyNortonAccount and then you can disable the activation you want to stop using and you will have a free activation to use on the Surface.

Just got a clarification on the Windows RT tablets -- Microsoft has apparently stated that Windowss RT will not allow any 3rd party desktop applications, that includes no 3rd party system security products .... that a rebranded MSE will be installed as defaullt.
