Licenses good NIS 2009 for NIS 2010?

I still have 2 boxes NIS never used 2009. The keys will be valid for an initial installation of NIS 2010 or should first install the 2009 to qualify for the 2010 update and its validity or its activation?

For example if I install NIS 2010 on a new PC, the key NIS 2009 is good?
