I just purchased a new subscription to Norton360/Lifelock last week. Now, this morning, I just read that portions (if not all) of this software were hacked! And to think I recently deleted another similar program in order to obtain Norton. What a complete waste of money and time. So now what? Is anyone from Norton going to notify us? You would think so, right? We all should have gotten a notice of sorts immediately after they discovered the hack. No, we (I) had to read of the hack on my news feed this morning. So now what? Just sit around and wait for some solution? I think it's refund time, folks.
Norton has not done a good job of explaining this. NortonLifelock was not hacked. It was attacked by bots using credentials stolen from other websites. in hopes of accessing accounts where people used the same username and password for Norton as they used on the other sites. If you follow best practices and do not reuse credentials on different websites, you are completely unaffected by this attack. See my post here for a short write-up on credential stuffing.

My comment about "time for a refund" was just that...a comment. I was not asking for a refund within the Community, but thanks for the info, though. Already had that information.
