Lion comes out tomorrow - what to expect from your Norton products

hi everyone!

So, it sounds like the word is out--Apple announced that MacOS X 10.7, "Lion" will come out tomorrow.

We have a conversation about Lion support here, but here's an update:

1 - We need to get the final version of Lion in our hands and then we can do our final rounds of testing before we release Norton AntiVirus 12 and Norton Internet Security 5 for Mac.  If you are interested in these new products, please visit http://norton.com/lion to sign up for notification and we'll tell you when you can purchase them.

2 - If you are interested in checking out the beta versions of the new products, email me or visit http://norton.com/lion to download the beta.

3 - We will publish a more comprehensive list of how our current products behave in Lion, but here is what to expect:

  • Norton AntiVirus - scanning works as expected
  • Norton Firewall - Firewall features work as expected
  • Norton Confidential - Safari 5.1 is not supported, so phishing protection and page analysis will not work

4 - You can find some more information on this KB article.

I will continue to update this post and the rest of the Mac team will be visiting these forums to make sure your questions regarding Lion support are answered as quickly as possible.

Thanks,

mike
