Customer feedback is overwhelming for wanting the local option for our identity safe instead of forcing it to the cloud and for the ability to remove the share from the toolbar! Please listen!
This was continually brought up during the beta testing but yet these items which are a problem for many of us are still there. You ask for customer feedback bullet don't use it for anything. These changes won't affect anything, should be very simple to implement and will make a lot of your customers much happier. What's the reason not to do it?
I installed NIS 2013 a few days ago and was blown away when I saw there was no more local ID Safe. I will never store my passwords in any online service. Hardly a day goes by that you don't hear of some organization getting hacked and customer information being stolen - Blizzard, Sony, Hotmail, Apple, Google to name a few. My subscription is coming up for renewal in less than 2 months and if the local vault isn't back before then, I'll be looking elsewhere for my security needs. I've been buying Norton AV, then later on NIS, every year since 1995, but this is completely unacceptable. I hope Symantec will reconsider this decision to force everyone into the cloud.
Come on! Restore ID Safe already. I have always been an earlier adopter of the latest version of Norton but the missing ID Safe is putting me off installing (I tend to do clean installs rather than over-the-top upgrades).
Yes! I'll add my voice to the others. Restore the local file for Identity Safe data! Also, while you're at it, enable users to get rid of the obnoxious Facebook Share icon on the Norton toolbar. It is unacceptable to have Facebook crammed down our throats in a product that we pay for. I, too, will drop my subscription after my current one expires if Norton does not fix these things.
I'd like to add that the delay in the NIS icon on the system try for Windows 7 users needs addressed.
This release seems very unpolished. Sorta like NIS 2012 first was.
When will there be an updated version of NIS 2013 with the slew of bug fixes that are being reported in the forums?
When can we expect a Symantec representative to pop by and address some of our concerns as lately .... it seems like no one is home?
So in the meantime; all other computers that are using NIS 2012 have Live Update: Automatic Download Of New Version: DISABLED until there are some serious program updates to NIS 2013. I don't want this new NIS 2013 on my Windows 7 system until it's cleaned up.

This is right on point. I accept that just released software is by nature buggy. That being said, that is why some of us are are holding on to NIS 2012 for a little while longer. There is no immediate rush to upgrade just because it was just recently released. When some updates, patches come through that address many issues reported here in the forums, then those who wish will be closer to moving to the 2013 version.
I'm just thinking, why can't Norton "fix" the bugs reported during beta BEFORE releasing the product. It seems Norton merely released the last beta-build as the final version with a few aesthetic tweaks like removing the word "beta" from the heading."
Unfortunately I don't think not having local storage of identity safe or having the share button on the bar are bugs. They are what Norton wanted even though that the users didn't want to them! There may be some bugs but these two items have been the biggest source of disappointment with the new release and it doesn't seem like Norton wants to listen.
