Live Update doesn't install toolbar patch

I have spent over an hour clicking "Check for new updates" constantly and after maybe 20 clicks it MIGHT decide to check.  Even if I click ONCE and wait 5 minutes it doesn't work.  What's the point of clicking to check if it's not going to actually check??  And no, uninstalling and reinstalling didn't fix it.  I tried that once before and lost my ID Safe for over ONE YEAR because when I tried reinstalling it from your website for some reason when it would get to the point of doing the final part of the install it would crash EVERY SINGLE TIME and bring up an error log and tell me I could submit it to Norton (which I did every single time).  I even downloaded the installation file again many times trying to make sure I wasn't getting a corrupt file.  I tried everything.  I even posted on a couple of forums trying to get help and finally just gave up and used it on my phone and prayed I never lost that!

Finally, when I upgraded to Windows 10 I thought I'd try it again just for the heck of it and I don't know if it was the new version of Windows or the fact that there's been many different version of Firefox or Norton ID Safe but something clicked and let me install it again.  I'm not about to uninstall this sucker again to try to get the stupid patch to install.  So, other than clicking "Check for updates" until my hand falls off what other option do you suggest for when a patch is finally available for the Standalone version for Firefox 40???

Instead of rolling out a patch through live update that rarely ever actually works like it's supposed to why can't you just put a link on the website to go to so we can clink on the link and download the patch?  Or put the link in the announcement email?  Or anything else that actually works!  I've had Norton Identity Safe Standalone version for many, many years and I have NEVER been able to get the live update to work reliably.
