Live Update Failing

It was working fine,  but since last 30 min its failing.

You have posted t a solved thread - which many folks will not even read as it is solved.  In order to increase visibility of your question I have asked a mod to move it to a thread of it's own.

 

Please post more info in regards to which updates are failing, the product and version of Norton you are using, your borwser of cvhoice as well as operating system.  Also, please verify your system date, time zone and time are correct.

Try clicking on Support - Get Support to run  Autofix to check your Norton installation and fix what it finds.

 

 

 

This same problem drove me crazy for over a seek. I finally thought to just restart my computer and it's been working fine ever since.

True. After all these years,. I still sometimes do one of those "facepalms" when I start troubleshooting an issue and then the "light bulb" turns on *lol*

Working fine here as of 12:13PM (CST)

It happens sometimes.

All you need is just wait an hour or two and it'll be back running fine.

I'm getting error 8920.223 and only web definitions will not update for the 2nd time this week, I have XP and NIS 19.9.1.14 Norton has posted this today  

If you are experiencing a LiveUpdate failure error when running manual LiveUpdate, please try to run LiveUpdate again in 24 hours. Please be aware that your PC is still protected............Thanks,,,,,,,Gorpy1

My NIS Live Update is working now (as usual) a little while later No more error messages, Just had to wait, ..Thanks, Gorpy 1

Same problem here until 5 minutes ago, only the Norton Web Protection Definitions weren't downloaded, even if no error code was shown, except a red X.

 

Now LiveUpdate is working properly.

After ~ 30 minutes, it did update the Web Protection definitions.  Several hours later, I tried updating, and once again it's failing on the Web Protection defs.  Everything else is still going through.

 

There definately seems to be something wrong on the server side relating to the Web Protection defs.  Hopefully after a while it will work again.

 

EDIT: Now after coming back after ~ 15 minutes, the Web protection defs once again went through???  It only seems to be focused on the WeB Protection updates ... but if people encounter this issue, the golden rule looks to be patient and just try again in a little bit

Not always, sometimes the problem occur for updates that aren't related to the Web Protection Defs.

Yes, you just need to try again a little later, and as Gorpy1 said, you're still protected.

Norton 2013 Reputation Revocation List are failing.

Mine also failed this AM - then ran succesfully abotu 20 minutes later. Nothing to be concerned about- as long as you get them in the end.

Again failed jst now

in failed state, pls fix
