Live update fails to connect when laptop is docked

Hi All -

 

I have a Dell D630 with NIS 2009.5 installed.  I noticed that Live Update was failing to connect to the update servers while my laptop is in its docking station.  I ran all the fixes posted on this forum, which didn't fix the problem.  I then interfaced with Norton Support, which told me to reinstall the software.  I did so after work one night and away from my docking station, and it updated fine.  Now, back in the office, no updates.  I took the computer home last night, ran Live Update, and it updated fine over a wifi connection. 

 

So, now I believe this has something to do with the computer being in the dock.  I've never had a problem before (I've worked with docked laptos for years, using Norton).  Has a recent update affected Norton's ability to connect to the Live Update servers via a dock port?  If so, can this be fixed?
