Live Update failure Norton 2013 Reputation Revocation List

Come on Norton - can you post something to tell us what you're doing about this please?

Rusty

Hi! I have problem with the updates. tried many times also with restart the system . can anyone help me to soft this error message .Thanks

I am getting the same Live update failure, started today.  I have checked the Pulse and Automatic Live update settings and both active.  Tried Autofix, apparently no problems.  Tried uninstall/re-install and did not work.  Agree that Norton needs to get this corrected and respond to its' customers.

Same problem with 2012 Reputation Defs so It's both 2012 and 2013 Rep Defs.......Norton server issue, just going to wait......Gorpy1

same problem with me too

Just purchased and downloaded copies of N360 for two machines. Same issue as reported herein on both.

Win7 Home Premium 64 and Win7 Home Premium 32 IE10 and Chrome27

I already chatted with a Norton Expert. I also uninstalled the Norton IS 2013 from my computer.

I let the program do a program update and re-install, then added the patch. Once this was completed, I procedded to

do an LiveUpdate and no good results. The same exact message occured with  Norton 2013 Reputation Revocation List

Status: Failed to complete Update Criticality: Recommended.

SOS Different time. LOL :(

Thanks Sunil !

I have the same problem on two separate computers. Is it safe to go on line to Facebook ,etc.

I have the same problem with NSS v20 in Windows XP SP3, and diagnosis tells me that Malwarebyte is to blame, but I don't want to remove Malwarebytes!  What shall I do?  :catsad:

Hi DebbieKearns,

I made a thread on Comcast Forums in regards to the revocation list.

This siutation has nothing to do with MBAM and I would just leave MBAM installed (provided it is the Free version).  It is my understanding Nortonis aware of the MBAM situation - which is totally diffent than what you have wiith LiveUpdate at the present time.

Thank goodness for this forum...I thought I was the only one with this problem.  I agree...Norton's needs to get on top of this quickly.  This was the first time I've gotten a message like this from my LiveUpdate, and to find out it's Norton's problem and not my computer's helps a little...hope they let us know soon what to do.

Hi BeckyBateman,

This is something thatoccurs from time to time with the LiveUpdate fnction and usually it is a glitch on just one of the servers - sometimes it is limited to an area of the country (world) dependent on the server, other times it is "all over" as in this case.

As you use Norton for a longer time, you may very well see more of them, us lng time users just press on with prode and try LiveUpdate periodically during the day and once it downlaods and complaets, we know it has been fixed.  Hope that explains a bit more about it for you.

Same here win 8 pro........guess once again we just wait...........................waiting........................................waiting............................

Hi, papaduck,

Yes, it is safe to Surf Online as you normally would.  If you have Automatic Norton LiveUpdate "On", as is the De-Fault Option, you have nothing to worry about as Updates will begin being Downloaded and Installed when this Fault is Repaired.

Please let us know if you have any other questions or concerns and we'll be happy to answer them.

This came in last night,I still can`t update.""what`s the PROBLEM"":catmad:

Hi, chatters95,

There is no action required on the user's part as this is a Symantec-side Fault.  The team are aware of this Fault, are investigating it and will notify the Community when they have more information from their investigation.  Again, there is no action required on the user's side and you are Protected if all Current Updates are installed up until this Fault.  Pulse Updates continue to be posted on the Server.

SYMANTEC:

This problem has been going on for at least SEVEN HOURS!!!!

A seven hour outage is totally unacceptable.

I use the term "outage" because for the past seven hours, your customers have not been able to keep their computers fully protected with the newest reputation revocations.

1. Are you going to give each your customers a "free" day on their subscription to account for this loss?

2. Are you going to compensate any customer whose machine was compromised due to their inability to have the most current reviocation list?

3. Most importantly, are you going to publish a full "post mortem" report that describes what caused the problem, why it has taken so long to fix, and what actions will be taken to insure that similar extended outages do not occur in the future?

A seven hour outage is just not acceptable!!!!!
