I would not post your I.D. or S.N..

It could just be a bad install; when did you install N.I.S. 2008?  Do you get any Error Messages?  What is your O.S., S.P.?

No, this isn’t the first time this happened. I’m using Windows XP with Service Pack 3, “Live Update control panel applet could not access LiveUpdate settings information. Error code 0x80070424.”

Was there a Web Link with this Error and did you click on it and did you follow the instructions on that Web Page?

Do you have N.I.S. fully installed on your computer?  Is LiveUpdate the only problem you are having?

Only the IE error page came up when I’m trying to get to a certain area of Symantec’s site, and yes, LiveUpdate’s the main problem I’m having right now.

Please to this as it may be a bad install or a LiveUpdate file has been damaged: How to re-install LiveUpdate.
